Group Meeting

Katie and I met on the email chat yesterday afternoon. We started by talking about how we, as a group, were having trouble finding time to meet outside of class. Then we started to talk about our projects. Katie is working on creating a website/link that works with her POL. She is creating a how-to-do the lesson for fifth grade teachers to use. I asked her how plans to promote/get her lesson out to the fifth grade teachers. She stated that she was going to survey the fifth grade teachers in the county to see how they teach about immigration and do a post survey to see if they would like to do the lesson in their classroom.

Then we started talking about my project, which is a staff development for Pre-K to second grade using a new website that Blowing Rock's media specialist subscribed to this year. It has sing-a-longs and ebooks. I will be conducting surveys to the teachers on the usability and the students' reactions.

We both liked each others ideas, and we talked about how each project could be used in the classroom immediately.
